Ann Waterhouse - aka Sue Porter - worked in Fleet Street in the early 1970s as a junior editor on an international Oil magazine at the start of an extended career in the media.

A moderate sportswoman herself, while raising her family she developed a keen interest in other sports and her first book, Rugby for Mums, was published as a fundraising booklet for Caterham School's 1st XV rugby team, with the blessing of then RFU President, Ian Beer.

The book was subsequently published commercially by Souvenir Press as part of Rugby & Cricket for Mums, in 1995.

Sue Porter's Guides was a new venture in 2012, and having proved extremely successful the entire series has now been sold to Meyer & Meyer, sports publishers.

The late Amanda Stiby Harris illustrated the original edition of Rugby & Cricket for Mums and has had major input into the style and content of these latest publications.

A talented painter and sculptor, Amanda divided her time between various artistic projects, from major art commissions to painting the scenery for the local theatre group.

Fans of Amanda's style can find more about her artistic endeavours on the Wylye Valley Art Trail and the Stiby Family exhibition, Art in the Family

as well as her own website:

Her recent passing means our work together has come to end, but her legacy will live on in her paintings, sculptures and illustrations.
